Compare options

Original keeps the input file format. WebP or AVIF often makes photographs smaller; choose PNG to retain transparency without JPEG flattening.

Original: Keep JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF as the output format.
JPG: Good for photographs. Transparent pixels are flattened onto white; JPEG compression can change fine detail.
PNG: Keeps transparency. Quality 100 uses full-colour lossless encoding; lower quality reduces the colour palette.
WebP: Compact images with transparency. Some older software cannot open WebP.
AVIF: Efficient images with transparency. Encoding can take longer; check compatibility with the receiving website or app.

Quality (1–100)

Higher values retain more detail. JPEG, WebP and AVIF use lossy compression even at 100. PNG below 100 reduces its colour palette; PNG at 100 keeps full-colour pixels. Compare the downloaded result.

Maximum width (px, 0 keeps original)

Optional longest allowed horizontal dimension after orientation correction. 0 leaves width unrestricted. The image keeps its aspect ratio and is never enlarged.

Maximum height (px, 0 keeps original)

Optional longest allowed vertical dimension after orientation correction. 0 leaves height unrestricted. Use both limits to fit inside a box without cropping.

Before you share the result

Already optimized images may not get smaller. Lossy compression changes detail; JPEG flattens transparency onto white. Animated and multipage files are refused, and images must be at most 50 megapixels.

How do I keep transparency and image quality?

Choose PNG, WebP or AVIF for transparency. PNG quality 100 uses full-colour lossless encoding; lower PNG quality reduces the palette. JPEG, WebP and AVIF are lossy. Orientation is corrected and metadata is removed. Preview the result and compare its size before sharing.
